and speech enhancement software, and VCON Telecommunications Ltd.
(Nouveau Marché 022021), a leading developer and manufacturer of
business Internet Protocol (IP) videoconferencing equipment and
virtual meeting technology, announced today that Andrea Electronics’
patent-pending Direction Finding and Tracking Array (DFTA™) system,
developed by Lamar Signal Processing Ltd. ("Lamar"), a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Andrea Electronics Corporation, will be incorporated
into VCON’s new line of MediaConnect 6000 and 8000 videoconferencing
products.

The MediaConnect 8000 Series videoconferencing product line is built

multimedia PC for the meeting room with Internet and LAN access
for team meetings and presentations. The MediaConnect 6000 Series
is designed for point-to-point and multi-point videoconferencing
applications and for other diverse communications requirements.
This series integrates high-quality audio and video with a variety
of advanced sources such as document cameras and VCRs, enabling
efficient videoconferencing as well as session recording capability.
Andrea’s DFTA algorithms detect the presence of a speaker’s voice,
determine its direction, track it when it moves and provide camera
positioning to the videoconferencing system. This technology also
operates with Lamar’s proprietary EchoStop™ echo-canceling algorithm
to eliminate feedback generated by loud speaker sound output from
the audio system. The result is a highly sophisticated and intelligent
communications interface.
The new versions of VCON’s MediaConnect 6000 and 8000 series videoconferencing
systems are available today through qualified VCON resellers and
directly through VCON.
