VCON
Selects Andrea Electronics' Technology For Integration Into VCON's Conference
Bridge
Andrea Electronics DSDA®, DFTA and Echostop
technologies, developed by Lamar Signal Processing, Ltd., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Andrea Electronics, bring the benefit of enhanced voice
input to tele/videoconferencing systems by enabling clear audio communication
in a hands-free, multi-conferencing environment. The technologies and
digital algorithms allow the microphone to center its sensitivity in one
focused direction, while reducing noise from all other sources. Benefits
include lower reflection/distortion levels and improved sound quality
plus advanced echo cancellation features, resulting in superior microphone/system
performance. Patent-pending DFTA technology takes tele/videoconferencing
to the next level of flexibility and control. DFTAs proprietary
algorithms are able to detect the presence of a voice and provide its
direction to steer a videoconferencing systems camera. Another innovative
feature of DFTA technology is the presence of an echo-canceling algorithm
to eliminate feedback of the audio system loudspeaker. EchoStop allows
for true full duplex communication over the conferencing system, even
when the system is used in large spatial environments that may be vulnerable
to long reverberation times. The algorithms unique multi-band processing
and seamless residual echo suppression capabilities provide clear communication,
even in highly reverberant environments. EchoStop also incorporates noise
reduction algorithms to reduce the background noise of both the input
(microphone) and the output (loudspeaker), thus preventing the accumulation
of interfering noise over multi-point conferencing systems. To learn more
