What
is the CA910? The CA910 is Andrea's Call center amplifier.
It is the companion to the Call Center headsets CS900 and
CS950.
What headsets are compatible with the CA910?
The Andrea CS900 and CS950 are compatible with the CA910
I sometimes hear noise on the line when
no one is talking. I didn't hear that with my other amplifier.
The Andrea CA910 uses Andrea Advanced Automatic Gain Control
(A3GC) to automatically adjust the incoming volume. Low sounds
are amplified more and loud sounds are amplified less. When
no one is talking the amplifier gain is higher so background
noise may be slightly more apparent. We believe this minor
annoyance is more than offset by the automatic adjustment
feature.
The A3GC
technology is similar to Andrea's technology developed for
use in aircraft communication systems. Amplifiers without
AGC cannot accommodate very soft-spoken or very loud individuals
without manually adjusting the volume control. Even someone
yelling at you on the phone will not sound much louder than
someone whispering.
If the amplifier has AGC, then do I need
to adjust the volume control? With AGC (Automatic Gain
Control) the volume control should be set initially for the
level most comfortable to you. After that little or no adjustment
is needed.
Is there a bass or treble adjustment?
Yes, there is a three position slide switch for tone. Center
is the nominal position, with bass boost and treble boost
in the other positions.
What PBX Systems - phones are the products
compatible with?
Does Andrea offer an on-line compatibility Guide? The
CA910 connects to the telephone, not the phone line. There
is selector switch on the amplifier for different phone types.
The CA910 is compatible with many phones used in the United
States. The CA910 is not compatible with phones with keypads
built into the handset or with cordless phones. Andrea does
not currently offer an on-line compatibility guide.
I have the amplifier receive volume on
max and it is still not loud enough, what can I do? If
your telephone has a receive volume control (many business
phones do) increase it to about ¾ of its maximum. This
is usually a good starting level to use with the amplifier's
A3GC circuitry.
